Geraldine accepted the invitation to join the board of OAA in 2013 after visiting the school on a trip to Africa in 2012. Her wealth of knowledge and experience from running her own charity in Cambodia provides OAA with invaluable insight. Geraldine Cox prides herself on taking on impossible tasks, and creating a haven for orphaned children in Cambodia rates right up there on the difficult scale. But this is a woman who won't take no for an answer. Her energy, determination and joy-of-life has sustained her through diplomatic and corporate careers, and now as 'Big Mum' to hundreds of Cambodian children. Geraldine says she is proud and lucky to be an Australian, but Cambodia has stolen her heart and she is happiest when she is there with her children in the orphanage she co-founded in 1993. She moved to Cambodia to live in 1996 and Sunrise now reaches out to hundreds of needy children in Cambodia providing a loving home, and all that this means along with quality health care and education opportunities beyond the reach of many Cambodians.
